⚽️ Sparta Girls U8s VS Baschurch hawks U7 ⚽️Our Sparta u8 Girls where back on the pitch today after 4 extremely long weeks off.The game was a tough one to get back into, but that said we are so proud of the teamwork, determination, and really heart from every girl showed on and off the pitch today.There was some lovely goal, footwork and most importantly amazing communication between the team 👏 *SPECIAL SHOUT-OUTS* ⭐️ Lizzie for trying upfront and getting her First Goal of the Season- keep those coming 💪⭐️ Luna, another clean sheet, also coming out of goal making some amazing tackles 💪⭐️ Autumn, working hard upfront and getting awarding her second goal of the season. Even tried in goal keeping a clean sheet 💪⭐️ Myla, for being a little rocket and owning the whole pitch, making some amazing tackles, footwork and some super goals 💪⭐️ Molly, some amazing goals and teamwork. Every girl played their hearts out and after going one down we took control and went 2 1 up. We were playing some incredible football and had chances to make it more. Not doing that cost it and in the blink of an eye we were 3 2 down. We brought it back and should have won but amazingly lost. Well done Newport thats a win each in the cups this year. In muddy conditions energy levels stayed high, pressing high up the pitch throughout the game, the pressure they put on either won the ball back or caused mistakes. Some of the passing today was top level, the triangles all over the pitch with first time passing opened gaps every where, intelligent, runs and passing play from the CM’s, Wingers and Striker led to numerous one on ones with their keeper. Goal kicks were incredible and stopped us getting penned in once. Defenders were solid and even came away with assists! The defensive line the last few weeks has been brilliant! Pushing right up to the half way line and putting balls back into the channels when we win it back, wish we had VEO there today to show the girls how well they did. Great game and onto the Q finals of the cup next week now. 🏆Supporters player Ava BrownWhat a talent! Everyweek she does something sensational, this week it was everything! Beating a player to then put the ball in the bottom corner from outside the box in the first minutes! You then immediately just saw her relax and absolutely everything worked, beating players in 1v1’s, beating them in 3v1’s, first time passing to open up space! Rewarded with an incredible hat trick of goals + assists. Not only all that offensive talent, she won the ball back countless times with a high press. Working relentlessly to win the ball back, cutting in and putting some incredible balls into the paths of other players, throw ins like they have come out of a cannon, 1v1 no kid is keeping up with her, she give everything 110% today! ⚽️ Sparta U7s Blacks vs Wrekin⚽️Another excellent performance and a really positive result for the team today.The whole squad were brilliant and embraced the physical challenge of the game from the first whistle. It was great to see the boys enjoying the battle and still playing their football the right way.Anthony was outstanding again, pulling off some brilliant saves when called upon. Olly was an absolute rock at the back — nobody was getting past him today. But the reaction from the team was brilliant two quick-fire goals turned the game around and put us in control.Our work rate was back to its best. Tireless running, fantastic recovery runs and some really nice link-up play created plenty of chances. Nova battled right until the end, but we stayed composed and added a few more goals to see the game out.A great team performance and effort 👏🏆SPOTM – PaisleyPlayed the first half in midfield and the second in defence. Her reading of the game and tackling were outstanding even when she found herself outnumbered 3v1 at times, she kept battling and came out on top. He was everywhere driving runs, constant energy, and capped it off with two really well-taken goals. 👏⚽️ Nova Rangers vs Sparta Lionesses⚽️The first game back after the break saw Nova Rangers take on Sparta Lionesses on a very muddy pitch — with plenty of cobwebs to shake off!Both teams put in a tremendous shift, producing a fantastic game of football. It’s a pleasure every week to watch the girls improve, compete, and perform at such a high level.After 40 minutes of end-to-end action, the girls unfortunately found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreline, losing by just a single goal in a match that truly could have gone either way.Manager’s Lioness of the Match 🏆Awarded to a young lady who continues to get better week in, week out. Nova led the game at half-time. The lack of recent matches showed a little in the first half, but the players reacted brilliantly and came out strong in the second.After the break, we turned the game around very quickly, scoring three quick-fire goals. Some excellent attacking football, combined with solid defensive work, allowed us to secure the victory.POTM:🏆Ivie – No player on the pitch worked harder today. It was noticeable when he wasn’t on the pitch.⚽️Sparta U9 Blacks V Telford Town U9 Lions ⚽️After a couple of unpleasant wet and freezing matches recently, the boys were pleased to be playing in a dry and relatively warm morning today at Regatta.Although missing several players today, the boys started well and held their own well into the first half before conceding before half time.After half time it looked like we were going to bounce back, scoring early on, but the lack of subs was too much to over come in the end, with the boys playing valiantly to the end for an unfortunate defeat.Great effort from all today, and they move on to the next.🏆POTM - Frankie⚽️ U10 Blacks ⚽️A perfect day for some perfect football!Our first goal was scored before the camera started recording! That early pressure paid off as we took a deserved early lead, setting the tone for what would become a fiercely contested game.With the strong wind working against us, it became increasingly difficult to get out of our half, and Randlay capitalised on one of their spells of pressure to level the score before the break.The second half was a testament to the team’s character. We battled for every ball, won challenges all over the pitch, and peppered the opposition goal in search of a winner. Despite our dominance, football can be cruel, and Randlay snatched the lead with a long‑range free kick that our unsighted keeper had no chance of seeing.Even so, every lad can be proud of their work rate, resilience, and quality of play. We pushed the top side all the way and showed exactly what we’re capable of.
