⚽️ Sparta Black u7 v NC United ⚽️We knew this week was going to be a tougher week but the boys showed up for it! First quarter took the boys a bit to get used to the faster pace on the 3G. The first half ended a tight affair with Randlay leading. The second half didn’t disappoint with some great goals from both teams but Randlay proved too strong in the end. Jobe was really unlucky not to score after several great runs down the left, but Wrockwardine always looked dangerous going forward too.We kept on top and managed to score some well-worked goals before half-time, which was just reward for our performance.Wrockwardine never gave up and pulled a couple of good goals back in the second half, making it a nervy finish, but we held firm and deserved to come out on top.A great game between two well-matched teams. To say I’m proud is a massive understatement!Lawley haven’t dropped a point in at least four years – they win everything – so we knew it was going to be a tough old game. But what a start! After just 25 minutes, we found ourselves 3–0 up, and I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming!They pulled one back just before half-time, and like all good sides, we knew they’d come at us after the break. But to my amazement, we extended our lead to 4–1!Then the pressure really came. Lawley showed why they’re such a strong team, and with about 8 minutes to go, we somehow found ourselves 5–4 down.Did we stop trying? The lads put everything from practice into the game and boy did it show today on the pitch. Half time came and with no subs and tired legs we faced a battle the second half, but with true warrior spirit we came out and continued to attack everything and defend against everthing that Allscott gave us. We then bagged another 3 goals but didn't once switch off as conceded a penalty but our goalie was on fire and saved it. Sparta’s girls games today 💛🖤⚽️ Sparta U8 Girls vs Shrewsbury Up & Coming Eagles ⚽️What a brilliant game from the girls today i think it was their best game yet— full of energy, teamwork, and some cracking goals! 👏From the first whistle to the very last whistle, the girls came out flying making stong tackles and strong passing and some great saves from Luna 🧤The team lead the way keeping hold of the ball for most of the game, and getting some absolutely amazing goals in the back of the net. No previous games to go off against Whitchurch and they are a lovely team. The managers were great and hospitality was incredible, we got sausage and chips in the club house afterwards which was a lovely touch. The game started at a fast pace with the Whitchurch CB winning alot of tackles and interceptions. We struggled a little to deal with that but once our attackers adapted we were much better. Our defenders were solid and we didnt let them have a lot of chances but when Ella was called upon she was strong in goal. When the midfield broke with the ball and played it to our strikers we threatened but couldn't get the break through. Finally when pressing a free kick in their box we scored with a great first time shot from Olivia (Liv). Im claiming the assist on that one with a managerial stroke of genius with the positional call 😂. After the goal we controlled and went on the complete the victory.🏆POTM Lila Cooper, great pressing and passing.
